Cleanings and Exams
Regularly scheduled dental cleanings and exams are integral to achieving and maintaining oral health. During your appointment, our skilled team will perform a thorough cleaning, oral exam, and oral cancer screening, in order to identify any oral health problems that may need to be addressed. We may also take X-rays of your smile to pinpoint damage under the surface of your smile.
Gum Disease Treatment
Some of the same oral bacteria that cause cavities and bad breath can infect your oral tissues, resulting in gingivitis. As the infection advances and spreads to the jawbone tissue, it is upgraded to periodontal disease.
Gum disease treatment is designed to clear away damaged tissues, neutralize bacteria, and promote oral tissue repair and regeneration. Our team performs root scaling and planning to remove harmful plaque and tartar along the gum tissue. We may also recommend a course of antibiotics or medications to treat the infection, use lasers to clean and disinfect, gum grafts to regain lost gum tissue or periodontal surgery with bone and tissue grafting to restabilize compromised teeth.
White Fillings
Tooth-colored fillings, also called composite fillings, are used to restore and repair natural teeth after they are damaged due to tooth decay or trauma. These fillings are custom-shaded to match the color of your teeth, so they blend seamlessly with your real enamel. Unlike amalgam fillings, composite restorations are completely metal and mercury-free.
Root Canals
Root canal therapy is an indispensable, sometimes smile-saving, restorative dental treatment. A root canal becomes necessary when the pulp of a tooth is inflamed or infected from bacteria from a deep cavity or compromised from a fractured tooth or other trauma. Our skilled dental team goes into the damaged tooth and clears out any infection. Once we have cleaned the remaining healthy dental structure, we fill the root canal with medicine and restore the tooth.
Although root canal therapy has developed a bit of a reputation over the years, the truth is that, thanks to technological advancements and our ability to achieve profound anesthesia, saving an infected tooth with root canal therapy should be completely painless.
And since we are also restorative dentists, if a crown is also necessary on the tooth we can complete that procedure at the same appointment as the root canal saving you time and unnecessary appointments.
Invisalign
Invisalign is the orthodontic system that uses a series of clear aligners (rather than traditional metal brackets and wires) to improve your bite and straighten your smile. Whether you’re dealing with crooked teeth, gaps in your smile, or a misaligned bite, Invisalign can help you smile confidently in as little as one year.
During Invisalign treatment, patients wear a series of transparent aligners: each aligner moves your teeth closer to your dream smile. Because Invisalign aligners are removable, you’ll be able to take them out to eat, drink beverages other than water, and clean your smile. Invisalign is the ideal way to optimize your smile without the hassle of metal braces.
Crowns
Crowns and bridges are cemented restorations used to rebuild and replace compromised or missing teeth that have been damaged due to decay, trauma or extensive wear that is too extensive for a composite filling to correct. Our dental team meticulously crafts crowns and bridges from porcelain or zirconia so that they blend seamlessly with your natural smile. These restorations are simple to care for, and durable enough to last a lifetime.
Partial Dentures and Dentures
Partial dentures are removable appliances to replace missing teeth and are held in place with rests and clasps that attach on any remaining teeth. Complete or Full dentures replace all of the teeth and are held in place via suction, adhesives or one of our implant options.
Our dental team customizes partials and dentures to look exceptionally natural for the patient. You’ll be able to speak and eat comfortably with these replacement teeth in place.
Oral Surgery
IWe handle everything from a single tooth to full mouth extractions and wisdom teeth removal: bone grafting, sinus lifts, gum and tissue grafting, PRP (plasma-rich protein), and dental implant surgery.

Tetracycline Stains (learn more)
Tetracycline Stains
The deep internal stains caused by the antibiotic, tetracycline, can’t be erased with any amount of good brushing and flossing. This can be embarrassing and even depressing to people living with this common problem. Fortunately there is a wonderful solution: the artistic application of beautiful, life-like porcelain veneers. Since the dark stains are actually “inside” the tooth structure, the doctor chose to carefully color the tooth underneath the porcelain so that the combined effect of the tooth color showing through the porcelain, resulted in a beautiful, translucent, living smile look – instead of just a lighter shade of dull.

Gender-specific Smile Make-over (learn more)
Gender-specific Smile Make-over
Perhaps you’ve never considered the idea of a smile being masculine or feminine, but this lady’s “before” look is a perfect example of a smile that was simply too masculine for her personality. The teeth were squared off, wide at the biting edge, and projected slightly forward. This made her appear aggressive instead of happy when she smiled. Her re-designed smile is a beautiful example of feminizing the appearance through smile design. Newly rounded curves where the biting edges touch the adjacent teeth, (called embrasures), contouring to accomplish a gum lift, and a generally softened appearance, now project a gentle, feminine style. Accomplishing this makeover included the use of custom-blended porcelain crowns and veneers.

Alison
Alison came to our office after having veneers done at another “cosmetic office.” She thought her teeth looked bulky and unnatural. Dr. Grayem gave Alison the smile she was hoping to have the first time and she looked beautiful for her wedding a few weeks later.

Veneer Makeover
WHAT A DIFFERENCE A SMILE MAKES! If you had met this young man before his smile was transformed you might have made some very wrong assumptions about him. Because he hated his teeth and was embarrassed to show them, he tended to avoid eye contact and squelched every impulse to laugh or smile. This gave the impression that he was grumpy and antisocial, in fact, he was simply trying to hide a smile that was a source of so much embarrassment. His awesome new look was achieved through the artistic design and skillful application of all porcelain veneers. In just two visits, gaps were closed, stains erased, and decay removed. He now flashes his dazzling, healthy new smile at every opportunity. This guy has gained a quantum leap in self-confidence and optimism!

LOVED my first appointment today at St. Louis County Dental. Cindy took very good care of me, making sure I was comfortable and helping me understand fully everything she was doing to get me established as a new patient. The office is beautifully done and the care was top notch. I am so happy that I found Cindy and Dr. Grayem! Will definitely be returning to them for all my future dental care.

Dr. H and EVERYONE at the office is always so nice and funny and make a dentist appointment a lot more enjoyable and actually something to look forward too! They don't criticize you on how bad you might be doing on cleaning your teeth, they simply inform of you of better ways to keep them healthy and suggest products to do so. I could never go to a different doctor's office ever again. My experience is always enjoyable!
